Danville River Town meeting
October 13, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Borough of Danville has recently received the ‘River Town’ designation from the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership. The designation was made in recognition of the Borough’s continued efforts to advance sustainable economic development connected to the North Branch Susquehanna River and is a testament to the ongoing collaborative efforts of the Montour Area Recreation Commission, Danville Business Alliance, Columbia Montour Visitors Bureau, Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce, DRIVE, Danville Area Community Center, Danville Arts Council, Montour County Historical Society, Danville Borough, Montour County, DCNR, Susquehanna Greenway Partnership and many other regional partners.
The Montour Area Recreation Commission will be coordinating the River Town program on behalf of the Borough of Danville. Our first step will be to bring together the many local and regional entities working in or around Danville on recreational, cultural, economic development or related projects and provide an opportunity for each to present an update on their projects. We’ll then facilitate a group discussion, looking for new opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
Our first meeting has been scheduled for Friday, October 13, from 8:00am – 10:00am in the Borough of Danville’s Council chambers. Light refreshments will be provided. This meeting is open to the public and all are invited to attend.
Additional meeting will be scheduled in coming months, some of which will be held on weekday evenings to better suit various work schedules.
