We are an art town! For our next Speaker Series event, we are partnering with Lycoming Arts to learn about the impact that being an art town has on our local businesses. How did we develop as an art town and how does that affect me as a small business owner?

On Monday, September 18th, The WBA is honored to welcome Lycoming Arts as our guest speaker. The presentation will take place at 5:30 in Downtown Williamsport in the Lycoming Arts Galley at 46 West Fourth Street.

The talk will be a PowerPoint Presentation entitled “The Arts Mean Business.” For 25 years Lycoming Arts has been developing the Cultural Tourism Brand of “Art Town.” PA’s developing tourist market of Outdoor Recreation includes Art Towns as part of the Susquehanna Greenways and the PA Wilds. When it comes to Outdoor Recreation an Art Town is a Rivertown is a Trailtown. Lycoming Arts will talk about how being an Art Town, a Rivertown and Trailtown offers three dynamic markets for the Art and Cultural offerings of Williamsport.

The WBA worked on the Downtown Williamsport Renaissance with organizations such as Lycoming Arts and Main Street. We have seen how information and discussion of local opportunities strengthens our businesses and our community. The WBA Speakers Series is designed to provide its’ members information and education about the organizations, agencies and projects that impact the business conditions/economic development of Williamsport and the Greater Williamsport Area.

The WBA sponsors three Speakers and Three networking events per year for their members.
