Welcome Weekend
Home to both Pennsylvania College of Technology and Lycoming College, Williamsport has enormous opportunity for both economic and population growth as a result of students establishing residency in Williamsport post graduation. One way we can encourage this is by making sure that students are engaged in our local community and economy during their time on campus. If we work together, we can help them to feel the charm of our city that will last a lifetime.
With Pennsylvania College of Technology returning to classes on 8/19, and Lycoming College returning 8/26, this is the perfect weekend for the students to get out and start exploring, post the Labor Day holiday when on campus welcome activities are slowing down.
Examples of Ways to Get Involved:
-Send us any special discounts or offers you have for college students throughout the year. Please note if this is year round or date specific.
-Host a special event/sale during this weekend to help the students feel welcomed into the city. If you already have something going on, let us know!
Weekend Happenings
9/6 - Lycoming Arts First Friday, Downtown, 5-9pm
9/7 - Small business tour of Williamsport for select Freshmen as a part of the Lycoming College first-year seminar passport program and Pennsylvania College of Technology office of Student Engagement.
**Please email us at info@williamsportpa.org if you would like to get involved.
